Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Warren by IHG

Juanita, the hotel representative, was outstanding and made sure we had what we needed. But the pool was dirty and dated, and then at midnight my daughter woke up screaming because she’d seen a bug. We found out there were roaches. We spent the next three hours shaking out our bags so we wouldn’t bring any back to our newly remodeled house. I don’t think I’ll stay here again. I’ll post another review to let you know how they handled this for us.

The price is outrageous for what you get. The hotel feels old and dirty, and the bathrooms need remodeling. The rooms still have bulky old TVs with basic cable instead of smart TVs. My kids said the pool water smelled foul, and the pool area had old socks, used cups, and wet towels lying around. When I asked reception for extra blankets because Michigan gets really cold, I was told none were available because of the laundry staff. She didn’t try to help or find another option. I won’t be back.

The restaurant employees were friendly, but my stay was still disappointing. Noise from the next room kept me awake from about 5:00 AM until 8:00 AM. I know children can cry, but I wasn’t satisfied with how the hotel dealt with it. They first offered only 2,000 points, then raised the adjustment to just 4,000 after I gave more feedback. The case notes also wrongly said I was satisfied with the outcome. Some of my interactions at the front desk felt indifferent. Losing that much sleep and getting this response was disappointing.

We booked a suite so we could put our child down for naps in a separate room, but the door between the rooms had been removed. There are two outside doors that open to the same hallway, and in the photos you can see the framed doorway where the missing door should be. I guess we could put the pack and play in the bathroom, but then we couldn’t use the bathroom. This place really needs refurbishment.
