Treasure Cove Resort Motel

The kitchen had all sorts of things we needed, including dishes, a skillet, and even a wine glass. We had a beautiful time here. My wife and I stayed before and everything was perfect, so we’ll try to come back this September. The staff were really friendly and the room was clean.

The cottages have roomy porches with lovely views, and in the morning you can spot water life from the docks. There are minnows near shore, and farther out we saw ducks and fish. You can fish from the docks, rent boat space, or take a boat ride with the resort’s founders. Rowboats and kayaks are available too. The cottages have a fire pit and one or two grills, depending on which one you rent. You can find firewood and starters at local grocery stores, including Tops and Price Chopper, where I go. There are three playgrounds. The main one is fairly central, with a mini arcade, ping pong table and paddles. Balls are for sale in the office for 25 or 50¢. There’s also a basketball hoop, a beach volleyball court with a ball included, and shuffleboard. The lakefront has a small, cozy soft sand beach with lots of seating, plus a seating area right on the beach. There are two gorgeous pools. Check-in is easy, the staff are friendly, and most of the time the owners’ two dogs are there to greet you. The views are beautiful, and it’s close to Bolton’s Landing and the town of Lake George. My family and I have been coming back for 12 years. This is the best place in the area.

There’s a good-sized beach right on the lake, plenty of lounge chairs, and tables and chairs with umbrellas for shade. Trees also shade parts of the grass and sand at different times of day. We’ve stayed at other places where the beach was so small we had to drive to public beaches, but here we were comfortable with the amenities and could walk straight from our door to the beach or pool. There are two pools, one at the top of the hill and another halfway down, plus several kids’ play areas. The rooms are clean and have what you need, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The place sits on a hill, so walking from the top down to the lake and back is quite a workout. There’s lots of boat activity, and you can bring your own boat and get a slip. Guests can use the canoes, paddle boards, kayaks, and rowboat. The two porta-potties by the lake are convenient. I hope we get to come back.

The Seh family treats you like one of their own, and I wouldn’t choose anywhere else. I’ve been visiting Lake George for 15 years and have stayed at Treasure Cove. The water views are beautiful, and there’s a good range of places to stay, from motel rooms to efficiency rooms and cottages. If you have a boat, they also have dock space.
