Super 8 by Wyndham Warroad

Parking worked well for our boat, and I was glad we paid only $55 a night. The staff were pleasant and easy to deal with, but the place smells like cigarettes, and I was surprised there were ashtrays in the rooms. The breakfast was a joke, and I've never seen a smaller breakfast area at a hotel that offers breakfast. The room needed more cleaning than I expect, though I don't blame housekeeping, they're doing the best they can. The rooms need some care and the whole place needs a remodel. I'll try somewhere else next time.

The breakfast room was a little small, but it wasn't a big deal. We got a nice upgraded room. There was a slight smell in the hotel, though it wasn't overwhelming, and we had a quiet, good night's sleep.

We were in a two-bed suite, and one of the beds had dirt in it from the previous guest. The sheets clearly hadn't been changed or cleaned. There was a beer cap on a chair, dusty desk and end tables, a broken lamp, and a dirty microwave. The hallways and carpet looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in days. This property is absolutely filthy and disappointing. I can't believe Wyndham would want its name attached to a place in this condition.

The smoke smell can get overwhelming, and my sheets had cigarette burns in them. I wish they'd put those in smoking rooms. I bring my own Lysol wipes and rewipe things, since I personally never put my food in any hotel because they're always gross. This Super 8 could use a huge upgrade, so I give it 3/5 stars. Still, for a snowstorm or a short stay, it's satisfactory, and the prices are decent. I got a discount through the casino. The staff are kind and caring as long as you don't arrive expecting an extravagant suit-and-tie experience. People from the city expecting lavish four-star treatment will probably find the place horrid. Keep an open mind when visiting a small town. I'd stay here again next winter. The other place across the street looked troublesome, and the casino hotel was full.
