The kindest person we dealt with was the blue-haired front desk worker. Give them a better job. The hotel itself made me feel unsafe, and I won’t stay there again. My family had been driving 22 hours home from vacation and stopped for one night because of the road conditions. The room was scorching and humid when we arrived. The elevator had gum stuck to it, and its door took a long time to close. The couch felt like fabric over wood blocks, with sharp armrests. In the room, the bathroom light was out, the hot and cold were reversed, the faucet sprayed sideways, and the couch was stained and disgusting. The corner chair had a mark that looked like blood, the lampshades were torn, the fireplace didn’t work, and the TV was cracked down the middle. We managed some sleep by sharing two queen beds among four people. At breakfast around 7 the next morning, the waffle iron looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since its first use. It was piled halfway up with what looked like cinnamon and burnt waffle remnants. The only good thing besides that friendly desk worker was having a convenient place to stop.

The mattresses are old enough that springs stick out, and the pillows smelled like curry. Rooms here cost far too much for what you get, and even the simplest things come with too much tax. Warsaw isn’t a good place to look for a decent room, so go somewhere else for a night’s rest.

After three calls, a voicemail, two emails, an in-person conversation, and a complaint to corporate, we still haven’t resolved this. The hotel says bed bug issues are handled at the property level. We paid almost $200, but only got $46 back: the second night’s charge minus a 24-hour cancellation fee. They wouldn’t refund the first night because we’d stayed, even though we left early after waking up with two bites each. We were told to call the Front Desk Manager, who referred us to General Manager Katie Patel. I’d already emailed Katie and never heard back. The manager said he was following her instructions, promised to call her and have her call us, but she never did. We emailed again with no response. We checked in Friday for a stay through Sunday. On Saturday morning, after finding the bites, we checked out and took precautions: threw away our luggage, bagged our clothes, found another hotel, and washed the clothes twice before going home. Victor at the front desk apologized and said they’d had a bed bug issue six months earlier. Reviews also show reports over the years. Katie’s first response to me was to our negative review. She’d ignored my earlier call, voicemail, and emails, yet replied publicly. That makes it seem like public image matters more to her than customer satisfaction. I’m glad other guests didn’t report bites, but that alone doesn’t prove there are no bed bugs. They feed every 5-7 days and can go 3-10 days without eating. My wife and I may have simply kept them fed over the weekend. They’re also tiny and hard to find, so not finding one during a single inspection doesn’t rule out an infestation. Katie didn’t deny or address Victor’s statement about the issue six months earlier or the earlier reviews. I’m also confused by her disappointment with how I characterized the team’s response. I described what happened and why it felt insufficient. If she thinks that sounds negative, it’s because it is. Her team sent me to her multiple times, and she ignored me. Saying the account doesn’t look good is just pointing out reality. Her focus on that says plenty about her.

The breakfast was stale, with old eggs and sausage, and the indoor pool was closed for maintenance, though there didn’t seem to be any maintenance happening. It felt like they’d closed it to avoid spending money cleaning it. The room and bathroom were both dirty and smelled bad, with stains in the bathroom. Dingy, dirty hotel and a terrible stay. Stay away.

The pool was clean and just the right temperature, and it was handy to buy snacks and drinks onsite, though they were a bit expensive. The room was clean and well organized, and the place was very nice overall, though a little tucked away from the road. My main issue was the pool furniture: the chairs inside and out were old and falling apart. The tables and chairs need an upgrade.
