I’d come back here. It’s a small family-run place, and everyone was really kind. My non-smoking double room had a roomy bathroom, and the towels and sheets seemed and smelled clean. I’m never sure about the top bed cover at hotels, though, and this one didn’t seem as clean. The bed had a nice firm feel without being too hard. There was a mini fridge, microwave, iron and board, hair dryer, plus two bottles of water and cups. No coffee maker, which was fine by me since I don’t drink coffee. They only provide bar soap, so bring shampoo. Pets are allowed for $10 each.

I was really let down by Expedia’s customer service when I asked them for help. I’d booked a seven-day stay through them, but when I arrived, the hotel said they wouldn’t honor the reservation because the price was too low. They then said they’d canceled it and that Expedia should have notified me. After that, they offered me a room for $50 more.

Expedia was confused too by how little communication there had been. They tried to book me another room, but the owners wouldn’t change their position. In the end, an Expedia representative found me a nicer, clean and well-organized hotel that communicated clearly, and I didn’t pay anything. It’s awful that the owners’ lack of concern nearly left me sleeping in my car. I’m changing my old five-star review to one star. I usually drive 8-9 hours to stay here, and I’ve booked either through Expedia or directly before without a problem. For this trip last weekend, I called as usual to confirm my two-night stay. The woman on the phone casually told me she’d canceled the reservation. I was traveling alone, in a town I didn’t know, and suddenly wasn’t sure I’d have anywhere to sleep. She said the Expedia price I’d paid was “too cheap.” If they had a problem with the rate, they should have taken it up with Expedia beforehand, especially since they’d worked with them before. I hadn’t gotten my money back from Expedia, and I didn’t have extra cash for another two nights somewhere else. The difference between my Expedia price and their rate was barely $10 total. Why didn’t they call as soon as they noticed the price difference? They could have let me know before I hit the road and was almost halfway there, or called to ask me to pay the difference instead of canceling. None of it added up, and it felt sketchy. They didn’t seem concerned about me or my travel situation, and just told me to call Expedia. The other hotel was clean and luxurious, with no bedbugs.

The owners are very nice. They live at the motel and take care of all the rooms themselves. The rooms are dated, but at least I didn’t see any roaches. There’s a back section where people actually live in the rooms, and it’s a bit trashy back there. No laundry service, ice machine, vending machines, or bathroom supplies. It’s a very small town, and I have to admit this is the best motel around. I tried a couple of other small motels in the area, and both had roaches. I just can’t deal with that. Hope this helps.
