Sleep Inn Gallup

The made-to-order omelettes were a nice extra, and I appreciated having a fitness room. The staff were nice, and the place was a great value that covered everything I needed. It could use renovations, and the location is a bit rough, but I still thought it was worth it.

For the price, this place really holds up alongside the pricier spots nearby. The rooms were clean, service was outstanding, and there were lots of updates. It may be an older hotel, but we slept great, saved a lot, and loved the omelettes. Glad we found it.

Breakfast was better than I expected for the price, with made-to-order omelets, biscuits and gravy, plus the usual cereal and waffles. Nothing to complain about there. The room was small but clean and well kept. It’s an older hotel, though nothing was coming apart, and the shower and clean towels were good. We stopped on our way to Vegas and arrived around 11 or 12 p.m. The place was packed, but there was still plenty of parking under the lot lights. I was exhausted, and the guy at the front desk made check-in easy. If we pass through Gallup again, this will be our regular stop.

The hot water lasted only about three minutes, and even then it kept switching from cold to hot. When I went to check out, nobody was at the front desk. Housekeeping knocked at 9:30 and tried to open the door while I was showering, even though the do not disturb sign was out. I had the latch on, thankfully. I’d requested a late checkout through noon, but the cleaners came back around 11:20 to see if they could get in. There was hair all over the room, including the sheets and towels. It was disgusting.
