Econo Lodge Gallup West

I stayed here for two weeks. The price was good, but the service was awful. They claimed I broke a towel rack when it gave way as I put my towels on it, and whoever inspected it clearly didn’t do a careful job. I also found the waffle machine never got washed, and there was poop all over the parking lot. It felt like the owners were looking for reasons to keep security deposits. I tried to overlook everything, but DONT RENT HERE!!!!

The room itself was decent, with vinyl floors instead of sketchy carpet, but the AC/heater rattled loudly and unevenly. Trains rumbled past all night, though luckily none blew its horn. The parking lot had only three other cars, which probably should’ve been a clue, and its security light kept flashing. We’d booked a free night with Choice points because breakfast was included. At 7:30 the breakfast room was dark, so I asked at the front desk. The clerk came out of the dark back room in shorts and a T-shirt, hair all over the place, looking like he’d just woken up. He said the delivery guy hadn’t shown up the day before, so there was no breakfast. I call BS. They couldn’t put out anything at all? Another guest managed to get a cup of coffee, but that was it. We won’t stay here again.

Fine for one night, otherwise pretty much what you’d expect at $40 when you pull up. Rooms are okay, smoking rooms are available, and they allow pets, but dogs bark and it’s not a place for families. The walls are so thin you can hear someone fart. Breakfast was a bagel or toast, with orange Tang instead of orange juice. The ice machine and vending machines were broken.

On November 16, we booked a room at eco lodge through Choice Hotels and our card was charged. At the desk, they said my fiance couldn’t stay because she wasn’t on my Choice Rewards account. I asked whether the card would still be billed and was told no, but they charged us anyway and now refuse to reimburse us, even though the hotel turned us away. I’d never stay here after this, and I wouldn’t recommend it. They don’t respond to customers and seem willing to rob you.
