Wasco Inn Motel

I was only 6 or 7 when we stopped here. We were four hours from the hotel we’d planned to stay at and needed a rest, but I really regret staying. There was a used c0ndom and dirty diapers in the garbage. The sheet was filthy with mold, bugs were in one of the beds, and there was blood on a bathroom wall and mold beside the shower. We spent only two hours there, mostly trying to clean, but even a deep clean wouldn’t have fixed that room. Then Blake threw up in the garbage, making an even bigger mess, and we left. I feel awful for anyone who’s stayed here.

We booked a room a week ahead, but when we arrived, they said none were available. We showed them the reservation, and they didn’t even try to help us. When we asked how to cancel and avoid being charged, they said, “You’ll have to call.” Very unprofessional. Stay away.

I called the day before and asked whether I could park my truck and trailer beside my room for one night. They said absolutely, and quoted 70 including tax. When I arrived, they said the only room available was on the top floor and charged more than the phone quote, saying that price was for a cheaper room. I went somewhere else for the night.

This motel is badly run down, with roaches, holes in the roof, and old furniture that looks like it was picked up on the side of the road. Good luck getting a room with AC or hot water. It should cost about 20 bucks a night at most. They charge a $20 key fee, and it has to be paid in cash.
