Fedi Sarabia, your Bell Captain, made a real impression on me during this stay. I travel with my dog Minnie, who is a failed service animal because of past abuse and can be timid, especially around men. Fedi was patient, gentle, and genuinely warm with her. She usually takes time to warm up, but his calm manner and a few well-timed treats won her over. That moment meant a lot to me. I’ve stayed at Capital Hilton at least a dozen times over the years, and the professionalism, warmth, and care are why I keep returning. The bell and valet team, who are often the first and last people guests meet, are consistently thoughtful and welcoming. Their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond reflect well on the hotel. Please pass along my heartfelt thanks to Fedi and the whole team. Their care makes a difference, and it’s a big reason I choose this property when I’m in DC.

I needed a staycation to celebrate a milestone birthday, and the location worked perfectly. The living space was cozy, and the rooms had nice updates. On arrival, though, the rooms weren’t very clean: there was visible dirt on the bathroom doors and the ice maker needed cleaning. The staff and front desk service were amazing, especially Frank at the front desk, who walked us through the hotel amenities and perks. I’d recommend coming back for a nice hotel stay.

Breakfast was my main gripe. The restaurant is off to the left when you enter, away from the central dining area, and I had to ask where to find it. The food was good, but pricey for what it was. The server offered coffee before showing me a menu, so I assumed it might be complimentary, especially with free coffee in the lobby. I later found out it cost about five dollars. It would have been clearer to mention the price first or give me the menu before asking. The hotel did provide a useful $15 Lyft credit. My room was spacious for a middle floor, with comfortable beds, a sofa with built-in power outlets, excellent Wi-Fi, and a decent view from the corner. One side faced the intersection, the other a courtyard. The building has wings that stick out, so depending on the room you may see other hotel areas or nearby rooftops. The layout makes the view a little unusual, but not bad. The lobby is large and nice, with a classic big-city Hilton feel, though parts of the hotel seem older. Its location on 16th Street, a couple of blocks north of the White House, made walking around downtown Washington easy. There’s also a Metro station about two blocks away. Overall, the comfortable room, fast internet, and central location made for a good stay. I’d consider coming back, though the breakfast experience could be clearer and more transparent.

When our flight was delayed, we had to add another night, and the staff made the change easy and stress-free. Frank poku at the front desk was incredibly kind, and we felt well looked after. The service was warm, genuine, and accommodating, which made our time in D.C. even better.
