This was my second stay at The St. Regis, and both visits were equally high quality. It’s convenient for most tourist spots, with good food options and a welcoming bar. Don’t miss the bottle opening at 6:00. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, the beds are comfortable, and yes, even the toilet seat is heated. It’s a cut above.

That bed was so comfortable we spent a whole day lounging in it. It was plush, supportive, and perfectly made, one of the best hotel beds I’ve slept in. The suite was lovely too, with a big bathroom, walk-in shower, and bidet. We were there for three days, and the service was thoughtful from check-in through checkout. Reception, housekeeping, room service, and valet were all excellent. We had a butler available, though we didn’t make much use of that option. When we ordered through delivery apps, the concierge accepted the food and brought it up to our room, which saved us from leaving the suite to collect it. We didn’t get around to eating at the on-site restaurant, but I’ve heard good things and would like to try it next time. The St. Regis D.C. is pricey, but the comfort and service felt worth it. It’s a great choice for a special occasion, a weekend away, or a business trip, and one of the best stays you can book in the city. Highly recommended.

The hotel and bar have a lot of history, and the service was excellent. The bar is worth a visit, and when it gets busy they’ll serve you in the lobby too. Prices match the luxurious atmosphere. Check-in was amazing as well. At Christmas, the hotel is decorated to the nines. Put it on your list to see the champagne tradition under the tree, where they open the bottle with a saber and tell its story. It’s a legendary hospitality tradition within those walls. I’m giving four stars because we were celebrating my wife and no amenity was offered, not even a note. That felt like a big oversight for an establishment at this level. Also, even after the remodel, I don’t think most rooms are impressive enough for their price, though the hotel itself shines.

Catherine the concierge was the helpful hero here. Butler service lost my wife’s very expensive, custom-made pair of formal gloves from London, and Catherine helped us find them. The manager on duty, Murielle, seemed clueless and had a noticeable attitude. The whole experience showed serious disarray in communication and professionalism. A hotel that presents itself as being at such a high level and charges accordingly needs to understand what excellent customer service means. Aside from Catherine, the St. Regis staff needs A LOT of training in what hospitality should be.

We always stay here when we come to DC. The restaurant is so good that we don’t need to compete for reservations elsewhere, and we enjoy the evening traditions. If you can’t book a room, tea reservations are still worth making. I took a picture of a little girl having tea with her mom because they were adorable.
