Global Luxury Suites at the National Mall

Avoid Global Luxury Suites. They charged me for an extra night and still won’t admit it was an error, even though I offered flight records showing I was no longer in DC. They’ve been awful to deal with and refuse to refund the charge. They billed my card for a night I wasn’t even there.

I spent a week at Global Luxury Suites at National Mall in DC. The location is fantastic, the room was clean and as promised, and the building had a front desk, so check-in and checkout were easy. Their basic app was a little useful for check-in and policies, and the gym had the essentials. With a full kitchen, it worked well for making meals and doing laundry. Keep in mind, this isn’t a traditional hotel. It’s more like an Airbnb with an off-site owner. There’s no room service or maid service, so you handle your own dishes and laundry. We had just one towel and one set of sheets, with no sheets for the sofa bed. Early check-in, even by an hour, costs a lot. I’d recommend it if you want a home base and a full kitchen. If you expect maid service or a bell desk, this place isn’t for you.

We paid for an apartment for six people, but when we arrived in DC, they didn’t have it for us. They blamed a problem with our credit card, yet wouldn’t take another card or even cash when I offered to go to an ATM. We had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay. Don’t trust these people.

The website said pets were welcome, and I even called to confirm. But when we got to Foggy Bottom in Washington DC, they said pets weren’t allowed. Global told us they don’t give refunds. We paid $800. This was the worst place ever.
