Hilton Club The District Washington D.C.

The neighborhood is safe and easy to explore, with plenty going on, and the Metro is only about a 5 to 10 minute walk away. We’d happily return to this comfortable, pleasant hotel. It seems to take up the top three floors of an Embassy Suites, and check-in is on the 8th floor. There’s a nice restaurant in the atrium with a good breakfast. Our room was spacious, clean, and well lit, with lots of closet space. The shower was especially comfortable, with great water pressure.

The pool was a major letdown, and parking felt like a huge rip-off. There isn’t really an onsite restaurant either, just open seating and a bar where you order food. Chef Geoff's down the street is fantastic for dinner. The hotel makes a great first impression when you walk in, but the stay felt underwhelming. The rooms and staff were nice, and the location is good.

The staff were nice, despite a mix-up with the secondary reservation I tried to arrange through marketing. They led me to think I’d stay on the owner side again, but that wasn’t the case, and nobody could fix it. Being an owner has been disillusioning for me. I’m better off with Hilton Honors and its flexibility. Christa at least tried to help and followed up. The distinction between the District and the hotel was a bit confusing. The 8th floor is the main desk, while the DC side starts on the 7th. Unlike NYC, anyone can visit the owners’ floors. The upgraded rooms are nice, but still feel like an Embassy Suite. There’s no smart TV, even though the hotel side has one. One HGV front desk representative told me there was a difference, which felt insulting. The furniture may differ, but Embassy suites all seem the same to me, unlike other HGV places.

We found it easy to get around from this hotel, which sits between Georgetown and downtown Washington DC. Many attractions, shops, and restaurants were walkable, and public transportation made exploring simple. After sightseeing, we enjoyed relaxing in the lounge and using the fitness center. The staff made a strong impression throughout our stay. Everyone, from the front desk to housekeeping, was friendly, attentive, and ready to help. Their local suggestions were spot-on. Check-in was quick and smooth, and we felt warmly welcomed from the start. Our room was spacious, modern, and spotless, with plush bedding and a well equipped bathroom. The city view from the window made mornings feel special. We had a wonderful stay at Hilton Club The District Washington DC Georgetown and would highly recommend it. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to Washington DC.
