The George Washington Hotel

The event deserves five stars: the venue looked beautiful, the food was excellent, and guests repeatedly praised both the meal and the service. Hayley, the coordinator, was thoughtful, responsive, organized, and kept everything running smoothly. The event staff showed wonderful hospitality. The hotel side was a very different experience, and I can’t rate the George Washington Hotel and Event Center separately. We had stress from room assignments and availability changing without notice. Some rooms were missing basic furniture, while others had cleanliness or maintenance problems. The rooms shown on the tour weren’t what many guests ended up receiving. From the start, working with general manager Robert was difficult. He was defensive when we brought up concerns, and communication was inconsistent. Some rooms were discounted after the ongoing problems, but clear communication, honesty, and professional management would have made a big difference. The excellent event team was a bright spot in an experience that should have been spectacular; hotel management was the dark spot.

Haley and Gianna kept the day stress-free, handled every detail, and helped make the wedding exactly what we’d pictured. Robert also stayed involved throughout planning, checked in often, and made sure things ran smoothly. His professionalism and genuine care really mattered. We got married at the George Washington Hotel on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, and the place had the elegant, historic feel we wanted from the moment we walked in. We knew from our first meeting with Robert that we were in good hands. The staff went above and beyond, and we’re grateful they made the day unforgettable. It’s a beautiful venue, and we’d recommend it to couples looking for a strong team behind their wedding.

Having the ceremony, reception, photos, lodging, after-party, and breakfast the next morning all at the hotel made the weekend so easy. We had different spaces for each part, and every one had its own feel. We could set up two days ahead and take everything down the day after, so we never felt rushed. Our wedding at the George Washington Hotel in October 2025 was everything we hoped for. Robert, general manager, Hayley, director of events, Brooke, event manager, and Gianna, banquet manager, made planning smooth and took care of all the details. We didn’t feel we needed an outside planner, and the team coordinated seamlessly with our vendors. Guests loved the food, with a shout out to Bobby, executive chef, and his team, and had great things to say about how warm and professional the staff were. The venue is polished, sophisticated, and full of character. We’re grateful the George Washington Hotel made the whole weekend feel perfect. Highly recommend it to couples looking for a beautiful venue and excellent service.

The vintage Gatsby-style look, huge bridal suite, and comfortable rooms were exactly what I wanted. The whole venue is gorgeous, and having everything in one place was a dream. The food was exceptional, too. I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. Planning from Arizona and then London was still manageable, even though I started two years ahead of the wedding in Washington, PA. Robert, Hayley, and the rest of the team communicated so well. Any small problem was sorted right away, and they went above and beyond for me, my husband, and our guests. Everyone was kind and accommodating. Hayley was by my side on the day, and everything went smoothly. She’s fun and so kind, and now I think of her as a friend. Incredible service from the whole staff!
