The Georgetown House

I’d especially recommend The Georgetown House Boutique Hotel to cyclists riding the C&O Towpath. It’s a convenient, welcoming place to rest, and the staff even held packages for me until check-in, which I really appreciated. The location is stunning, one of the prettiest I’ve experienced. Check-in was easy: a self-service kiosk outside the building took under five minutes, then gave me a code for the main entrance and my room. Inside, the hotel has a lot of charm. My room was spotless, well ventilated, and had effective air conditioning. The pillows and bedding were so comfortable that I slept great. There’s a shared kitchen in the morning with several coffee options, a nice touch. This was one of my best stays in years, and I’d happily recommend it.

The automated check-in was simple and convenient, and the rooms were really comfortable. The location was amazing, too. I’d sent a somewhat large package ahead of my arrival, and it was waiting for me just as Alexis had said. The hotel was responsive and accommodating with my requests, and communication was excellent. A great stay all around.

The old building doesn’t block much sound, so when other guests ignore quiet hours from 10pm-8am, sleep can be tough. That happened when we were in a lower-level room. I was glad Alexis Togoon, the general manager, replied at midnight and immediately offered us a quieter room. That kind of customer service made all the difference. We’d been considering another place to stay in town, even though we appreciate this unique setup and location, but because of Alexis we added an extra night and were very happy. We’ve stayed at this conveniently located Inn many times, and really appreciate Alexis’s quick follow-up, even in the middle of the night during this recent visit. We arrived muddy and sweaty after seven days on thd trail, and the helpful staff made the end of our trip feel wonderfully relaxing, even with the rain. The location beside the canal was beautiful. Our room, the shower, and the bed were all great, and the kitchen was spotless with delicious coffee. Thanks for making the finish to our trip so memorable.
