Rama Inn Motel and RV Park

I saw a cockroach, and I've been itching ever since I stayed there. I'm pretty sure there were bedbugs, at least. The place was plainly gross. When I left, there was a feral cat that looked like it had a broken jaw. The front desk tried to blame “the cleaners,” but I don't think they existed. A dead body in the tub wouldn't have shocked me. When I saw the two-star rating, I thought people were being very generous.

I walked into the room, turned around, and left. There were no TV remotes, no TV, and no lampshades. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and offered me another room, but I said no thanks. He didn't know the TV was missing, and I made sure it wouldn't be blamed on me.

The room smelled like smoke and mold, and I couldn't sleep because I was worried about my car and the smell was hurting my lungs. The place felt really unsafe. Even the attached RV park was full of dilapidated RVs, people who looked druggy or homeless, and random yelling. They may be putting on fresh paint and changing the name, but this is a dump and shouldn't be a hotel. Getting in was an annoying hassle: the lobby was locked, and I had to ring a bell and shout through a plexiglass window, passing my ID through a small hole. They couldn't find my reservation by name or confirmation number. I booked through Booking.com, and after more fumbling on the computer, they finally found it. I'd booked a two-bed room, but they tried to give me one bed. The AC filter needed cleaning, but it was still grossly stained and smelled. There were stains everywhere, on the sheets, pillows, chairs, walls, and every towel. The room was advertised as having a coffee pot, but there wasn't one.

I can't explain it, but it was an amazing, almost spiritual experience. Some of the people staying there were among the nicest I've ever met. The room itself was far below average, though the beds were clean enough to sleep on, and the fridge and microwave worked. I'll go again next year.
