For $77 including taxes through my third-party app, I was really impressed with My Place Hotel. We stopped there on our drive back to Arkansas after spending December 2025 with my wife's family in Canada. I'm particular about getting the service a reasonable person should expect for the money. The front desk clerk was extremely nice and did her job well. The lobby, elevator, and hallway were clean, with no odor anywhere. I often notice smells in hotels, but not here. Our room was spotless and everything was in order, with a full-size residential refrigerator and cooktop. The bathroom was so clean my mom would've been proud, and the water pressure was good too.

I've stayed here several times over the past two years, but this visit was different. The room was filthy: crumbs all over the floor, a ketchup packet and French fry on the kitchen floor, and a beer bottle cap in the bathroom. It makes me wonder whether the bedding was changed at all.

The check-in woman was pleasant and the room was clean. The bed was the problem, it sits so low that we may as well have slept on the floor. My husband has Parkinson's, and getting in and out of it was difficult for him. It needs another mattress or two.

The staff are really nice, especially Kaitlin, who was friendly and made our long-term stay feel comfortable. The whole experience has been great for me and my family. It was convenient and comfortable, and they made the stay easy.

For the price, My Place Hotel – Watertown, SD is a strong option if you want a clean, modern, comfortable room with a kitchenette and a pet-friendly policy. There's no full breakfast, and you may hear noise at night, but even with those drawbacks it offers outstanding value.
