Radisson Hotel Milwaukee West

The location worked well, with the mall and good restaurants nearby, and I’d stay again. My room was great. It did get a little warm at night because, with it cold outside, the AC would only run heat and wouldn’t cool the room.

Asia at the front desk made my stay memorable. She was warm, attentive, and professional, and went out of her way to help with what I needed. The hotel was comfortable and well maintained too, but her service was the part that really stood out to me. I’d recommend the Renaissance Milwaukee West Hotel, especially if you get to meet Asia.

The room stayed at 72 no matter how far down I turned the thermostat, since the hotel controls it. There was also a strong perfume smell throughout the common areas, and nobody mentioned the $100 incidental charge when they swiped my card. On top of the $200 a night, I had to pay for parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast. The building is beautiful, but those extra costs and issues spoiled the stay for me. I’ve had much better experiences at Fairfield Inns and Double Trees. It feels stingy for a supposed four-star hotel. I don’t blame the employees, just the chain.

I’m a Titanium Elite member, and this was still a terrible place to stay. Staff seemed poorly trained in guest courtesy, rarely smiled or made me feel welcome, and were rude when I checked in. Their attitude changed only after they noticed my status. My room floor was covered in dog hair, and I had to ask them to clean it. The do not disturb sign was usually unavailable, and there was no laundry bag. Breakfast was awful, and the coffee was either cold or gone. At the restaurant, service took forever even though staff knew people were waiting and stayed in the back. The AC was often centrally controlled or broken. The room was set to 66, so either engineering or the front desk had to be called to adjust it to what the guest wanted. If this is the service I got as a Titanium Elite member, I can’t imagine what others get.
