Fairfield Inn & Suites Lansing West

The breakfast had a good variety, and the area was clean and organized. The mattress was comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard, but the pillows were so thin that even two didn't support my head, and the loveseat was very hard. We were two adults staying two nights and got two partly used rolls of toilet paper. A piece of the refrigerator fell out. It was white plastic with black, moldy material in it. The whole hotel had just one working ice machine, and it clogged often. I waited ten minutes for front desk staff to clear it. The front desk was often empty because the clerk was busy cleaning the breakfast area. Many guests were there for an MSU football game, and most seemed to be fans of Big Ten schools. The room TV didn't have the Big Ten Network.

Megan went above and beyond for me, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, the eating area was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was definitely a good experience!

My first impression was good, and the staff had been great. Later, after I left and spent some time in the hospital, I came back and was told I couldn't stay anymore because of an unpaid bill. I wasn't given a chance to explain or told why when I walked in. Earlier that day, I'd stopped by with about $2,500 cash to cover a $100 hotel bill. It felt like another case of Choice Hotels judging someone over a situation they caused, without even knowing the truth. I don't recommend staying here if you might run into problems in life. In my opinion, Choice Hotels can leave you stranded and screwed over.

I canceled my room through the app with plenty of time to avoid a charge, but the hotel charged me anyway. On my first call, I was told the manager would call back. A week passed, so I followed up and got told it wasn't their fault, that it wasn't “the apps end,” and that I had to call another number. The charge came from the hotel, and I even gave them my cancellation confirmation number. They brushed me off without resolving anything, just saying someone else was to blame.
