Red Fox Inn

This was the third child’s birthday party I’ve had at the Red Fox. The first two went smoothly, probably because I’d booked two rooms then. This time I paid $280 just for the pool area, after being quoted $250. I’d spoken with someone weeks beforehand about renting it for a party, and they even called a few days ahead to ask how many tables to set up, which I appreciated. When we arrived, nothing was ready. They had set up a different area, and other people were already using the pool. They added two tables to the three already there, but there still weren’t enough chairs. It was extremely hot and humid, and we were told they had to keep the heat running to prevent condensation on the windows. Some guests didn’t swim and had to sit in what felt like a sauna. We were also told the pool stays open to everyone during parties. So people outside our group could come and go, even though I’d paid for a pool party. I could have booked rooms for less and just swum. I’m unhappy with how it went and won’t book another party there. Other places charge less, give you the whole pool, and don’t leave you drenched in sweat. I’d been happy with my earlier visits and had recommended the place for birthday parties, but I’ll suggest somewhere else now.

Brunch at the restaurant was great and good value. The staff were lovely, and the place was really clean. Hard floors instead of carpet made it feel very pet-friendly. The beds were comfortable, too, and the updates have given the place a modern feel.

My wife and I stay here often for business, and after trying almost every hotel in Waverly, this is the one we like best. The rooms are updated, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. The area feels safe, and the parking lot is well lit. If you’re staying in Waverly, I’d pick this place.

The pool area is great, and the hotel is dog friendly. They’re remodeling everything. Our room was new and very clean, while the upper floor was still being worked on. What they’ve finished looks perfect.
