The location was lovely, quiet, and easy to find. We couldn't have asked for a better spot. But we weren't told when booking at Redwoods that the lodge was privately owned rather than just a holiday home. It was dirty and full of the owners' belongings and knickknacks, which made it feel cluttered. There was barely room in the kitchen to put our food because the owners' cooking gear took up most of the space. Some bedroom windows had no blinds, so sleeping was impossible. One en suite had a child-sized shower that couldn't be adjusted, and adults couldn't use it.
