Texas Inn

The room was clean, but its furnishings were dated, and the whole hotel felt neglected. Everything looks run-down and badly in need of renovation. I absolutely can't recommend it.

For an older building, this place deserves a 5 in this economy. The price, location, cleanliness inside and out, and customer service were all a 5 for me, especially considering the building's age. I gave it a 4 because the outside of the ice machine hadn't been cleaned, which makes me wonder about the filters inside. The small suitcase scuffs are just everyday wear and tear. No mold or bugs, everything in the room works, and there's even ice-cold soda for a cheap price at the desk.

A handy place to rest during a road trip, right by the expressway with easy access back onto it. The front desk staff were very good and tried to help with what we needed, and the rooms were clean. We couldn't get two non-smoking rooms for the trip, though, and the smoking room was really stinky with cigarettes, which wasn't good for some of my kids. The employees sprayed to try to clear the odor, but it seemed to help for only a couple of minutes. I'd love these hotels to be smoke-free, especially with so many people stopping to rest on road trips.

Nothing fancy here, and you have to do enough of the cleaning yourself if you stay for a while. Some people live there. Right off the highway, it seems like a cheap place for sleep, parties, booty calls, and so on. In some rooms the shared microwave is out in the hallway. Check-in happens with you outside and the staff behind glass. And there are roaches in the rooms, so bring Raid or be ready to stomp them out. They have TVs, fridges, and microwaves in some rooms, along with a bunch of impossible, ridiculous rules. Pay a little more somewhere else for better comfort, cleanliness, and service.
