La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Weatherford

The bed was comfortable, and we liked the jacuzzi tub in the room. The location is good, but the place felt dirty: there were mold spots on the ceiling, grout lifting from the floor, a dead bug caught in the door, and dirty-feeling floors. We wouldn't stay again.

The staff were great, so this wasn't a service problem. The building itself seemed neglected, though, and I found myself wondering how clean everything else was. The carpet was filthy, the room smelled strongly musty, and the water pressure was awful. For a name as recognizable as this one, the stay was a huge disappointment. I was willing to pay the rate for the brand's reputation, but the property didn't come close to matching it, and I left feeling misled by the name. I'd never stayed at a La Quinta before, and after this, I doubt I will again.

After traveling for hours, I arrived late and was checked in by a gentleman just after 1 AM. He was great. My room, the grounds, and the property were clean and quiet, and I got an amazing night's rest. I was surprised after reading the reviews that my room, 309, had no strange smells. I had a great stay.

We were charged over $700 for a two-night stay and still haven't had one of the charges returned. Before check-in, they took $100-something as an authorization charge. At check-in, the full $276 was charged twice, then another $276 came out Saturday morning. The manager said that charge would be back in our account on Saturday, but it hasn't been. I've never had a hotel authorization charge match the stay charge like that. Both rooms also had carpet that was damp or soaking wet and smelled of mildew. We won't return or recommend the place.
