Trade Winds Inn Clinton

I was worried about our safety because the hotel had very little security. The large glass in our room was broken and held in place with duct tape, the room smelled odd, and the AC was worn out. There were no electrical outlets for charging a cell phone or running CPAP machines. This place is run down, an understatement. Read the older reviews if you think I'm not being truthful. Avoid spending your money here, their policy is no refunds.

The price was nice, and I kept to myself. My room didn't have bed bugs, and there was hot water and a good heater. The microwave needed replacing, so they brought us a new one.

I was scared to try the free breakfast by morning, and there wasn't even an ice machine because the lines had frozen. When I raised my concerns with the woman at the front desk, she argued with me. All night there was banging and what looked like drug deals going on around us. The sink clogged in seconds and filled with something like vomit, there were bloodstains on my sheets, and the rooms were crawling with roaches despite looking nice at first. This cockroach motel badly needs an inspection from the BBB. Stay away.

We checked out right away after being woken in the middle of the night by bed bugs crawling on us. Earlier, my husband and I opened a drawer and found at least 5 roaches. The room didn't look very clean as soon as we walked in, though we thought it might do. On top of the bugs, we heard loud banging all night, and the owners and staff were VERY rude. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay FAR away from this bug infested motel. It's the worst motel we've ever stayed in.
