I drove six hours late at night while pregnant, with my autistic child and two dogs. I got a room for $20 more than advertised. As I was pulling away, the owner ran to the lobby to look at my vehicle. That’s when I noticed the no-pets sign. I was exhausted and hadn’t seen it or thought to ask, and he hadn’t mentioned it. When I came back from getting food, I went to the office for a refund and explained that I had pets and neither they nor I had brought it up. The owner didn’t say a word to me. He threw my card and receipt into the bucket. Very rude.

You can’t tell what this stay is like from the outside sign. The rooms seem to have been remodeled very recently, and mine was surprisingly large, with a couch and table, plus a separate kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, large sink, and other amenities. It was extremely quiet and very clean, with no barking dogs, stairwell banging, or traffic noise. Management was accommodating. This hidden gem was much more comfortable than the three major hotels on Weatherford’s main drag.

It was a decent family-owned motel, and the immigrant owners seemed nice. The room was very clean, and I wouldn’t mind staying again. The bed wasn’t up to the standards of a big chain, though it wasn’t terrible. Also, the AC was off when we arrived, so cooling the room took a while, and it never got as cool as we like.

The outside sign isn’t as glamorous as the big-name motels, but don’t overlook this gem. They were very accommodating when we needed to check in late. The rooms were recently remodeled, spacious, and clean. Ours even had a separate room with a kitchen. We highly recommend stopping here.

The room was clean and spacious. No perks, but that was fine for a work trip.
