Rodeway Inn in Weatherford

The room had been updated and was otherwise clean, though it needed sweeping. It’s a cheap place for a night or two, but there’s nothing special about it. The pool wasn’t ready, which was disappointing. We came back Saturday night after visiting friends, and the owner’s husband started yelling at us for going to my friend’s room. We’d been quiet, so the harassment made no sense. I’d meant to stay longer, but after that I won’t be back anytime soon. Very rude.

The room rates seem to vary because the people running this place don’t know their own prices, and they’ve taken money from my cards. We also dealt with roaches and so much noise it was hard to sleep. They said pets were allowed and charged us for them. I told them I had multiple pets, stayed two weeks without a problem, then they suddenly said we could only keep one and later told us they had to leave. They still won’t give our money back. When customers raise a problem, management threatens other staff with losing their jobs if they don’t shut the customer up. That isn’t the employees’ fault. They’ll also walk into your room without knocking and stand there with the door open. I absolutely don’t recommend this place. Go to another hotel up the street. It was a nightmare.

I got locked out of my room in the morning when the key stopped working, and it took a considerable amount of time to get back in. The shower barely had hot water, and loud music played from a speaker outside my door early that morning. I’d arrived late and only wanted a little sleep before work, but staff talked loudly outside my room and kept using the door next to mine until after 3:00 am. They put me right behind the office, despite saying there were plenty of rooms. I booked online after the recent reviews looked decent, but no confirmation email arrived. When I called, the hotel told me they’d charge my card when I got there and not to worry. They did have a room, but charged $15 more than the online price. If they don’t honor online bookings, they shouldn’t advertise them. Don’t trust the other reviews. There are better reasonably priced places in town.

For longer stays, this hotel has worked out best for me. I’ve tried several others in Weatherford, and the location and value here are hard to beat.
