The rooms were clean, and everyone at the front desk was kind. The owner was very hospitable and treated me warmly. Best service in the world.

Sherman greeted us, and he was a big, lovely guy who was friendly and accommodating. Houston isn't pedestrian-friendly, so keep that in mind if, like us, you're traveling on a low budget. The pool was clean, the water was warm, and there was plenty of chlorine, so we didn't get sick or see bugs. The bedspread had a cigarette burn, but the sheets and pillows were clean and comfortable, and there were no bed bugs. East Star Buffet is about a five-minute walk away and costs around 18 dollars for all you can eat. Watch out crossing the road because the walk signs don't work. Our room near the pool smelled of tobacco and dampness. The lobby smelled like cigars and humidity and didn't have much A/C. In the bathroom, the floor was sticky, the tiles were moldy, and there was a fossilized roach and bubble gum behind the toilet. I wasn't a fan of the tub. At 70 dollars for a Saturday night, it felt overpriced. Still, for a quick bite, some sleep, and heading off by 7am, it was okay.

I think her name is Mila, though I can't promise I've got the spelling right. She's a short Puerto Rican lady with kind eyes and a contagious smile, and she's very attractive for her age. Every time I'm in town for work, I book here because she makes me happy. She's been more helpful than I could've asked for, and it's a crime there's no tip jar at the desk. I keep things professional, and even my fiancee likes our rapport. The rooms are spic and span when she's working, clean enough to eat off the floor. Too bad she doesn't come with the room. 😔 🥴🫠🏆👑👌🏾❤️🔥🥵🥰 magnificently magical 🪄⭐🤤🛐

After two rooms, I gave up and left. In the first, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, there was used soap and towels, and roaches were crawling on the walls. It smelled of smoke, mold, and mildew, and clearly hadn't been vacuumed. I went to the office, showed them pictures, and they apologized and offered another room. I figured it might have been a fluke, so I loaded the car back up and tried it. The second bathroom was a bit cleaner, but the room still hadn't been vacuumed. I was tired enough to overlook the crumbs until I pulled back the comforter and found a lot of live and dead bed bugs. I went back to the office, got another apology and room offer, then declined and asked for a refund. I'd read the reviews and thought they couldn't be that bad. I was so wrong. Please heed the warnings. If you can't find another motel, your car, a bridge, or even a dumpster might be better than risking bed bugs and roaches.

The lobby was filthy and smelled bad, the coffee was nasty, and there was no breakfast. The towels came apart while I was drying off, and my room hadn't been cleaned properly, with nasty hair everywhere. A family that's apparently lived here for about five years acts like they own the place and will take your clothes out of the washer. They also say parking is assigned according to that family. It was a horrible stay, and I wouldn't recommend this motel. For a few dollars more, you can find somewhere cleaner and friendlier.
