The water park was comfortably heated, with exciting slides and good choices for both little kids and adults. Everything felt fresh, clean, and thoughtfully designed. There were plenty of activities beyond the water park, too, so there was always something to do. The staff were friendly, patient, and quick to help with questions, and check-in went smoothly. Our room was spacious and comfortable for a family. We live in the Houston area and have always gone to the Great Wolf Lodge near Dallas, so we were excited to hear one was opening here. It’s a great getaway without leaving the area, and our family is already planning another visit. Houston families are going to love it.

The staff were all very nice, and the lifeguards did a great job keeping a watchful eye. Still, getting from the water park to a freezing lobby every day was rough, especially with little ones. You’re charged if you take a towel. Housekeeping made the bed and replaced towels but left the trash we’d bagged, and our bunk bed suite only got two sets of towels. The water park also isn’t friendly for people who need assistance or have disabilities. Breakfast was disappointing apart from the made-to-order omelettes, and it doesn’t compare with nearby places. The outside of the property looks dull, making it hard not to notice cheaper options like Topgolf next door and Cosmic Air. Bowling is squeezed into a small lobby corner, and the Build-A-Bear, candy, and souvenir shops are crammed together. The frozen drink machine was broken by day two. In line, we heard guests say it was their first time getting ice cream after the machines had been broken on their previous three visits. I’m not sure we’d come back to this location, so three times is wild. Whichever pass you buy, you still pay for things on site, and parking in the lot costs $25 a night. If you use your bracelet to pay, on-site charges aren’t added until checkout, so it’s hard to track the bill and I had to ask.

We had the best time celebrating my toddler’s birthday a few days early. We stayed one night and got to enjoy the water park the next day. I liked that we could bring snacks and a cooler to the room, so that was all we needed. We’ll definitely be back.

It’s a cozy, comfortable little getaway close to Houston, and the water park was perfect. All the staff were accommodating, from the lifeguards and store cashiers to the front desk. The kids would probably give it five stars. There were a few small things that added up in the kids’ standard cabin: the thermostat was finicky, there was no microwave, the pillows didn’t suit me, and the bed could have been a size larger. The fast food place was very poor quality for the price. I don’t expect much from pizza and burgers, but come on. We only went there because the healthier restaurant closed at 9. Even with those issues, I’d still recommend it.

The twins love the bunk bed rooms since we don’t have that at home, and this is a nice way to give the kids a mini trip or vacation. We’re grateful there’s an indoor water park within driving distance of Houston. Is it the greatest? No. Is it solid? Yes. The website often has deals where the room is basically free and you’re paying for the water park. I’d recommend adding the adventure pass for $149, which is only available at check-in and gives the whole group unlimited activities. There aren’t enough chairs, or the seating system doesn’t work well. People leave their things and take up too many seats, so I often have to put my stuff against the wall. Also, the bathrooms have no conditioner or blow dryer, which makes little sense for a water park. Still, it’s a great place for a family.
