Colonial Motel

For $85, we expected more comfort. The A/C wouldn’t blow cool air, so the night was miserably hot and we barely slept. I was glad to get up and leave. Wouldn’t recommend it.

We were told the room had just been remodeled, but it didn’t look that way. It smelled moldy, there was no hot water, and we couldn’t shower. People were roaming around outside at all hours, and it was very noisy. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

There’s a park just a block away, and local places to eat are within walking distance. The spot is cute and quiet. The city police station is across the way, and officers patrol at night, which gave me extra peace of mind.

I ended up staying here for 17 days after the Uhaul I was driving broke down in front of the business. I’m a senior, disabled, and single, and was waiting for my new place to be ready. For a motel of this age, the room was okay. It had a microwave and fridge, my pets were welcome, and housekeeping helped when I needed something. Management also lent me a phone charger when I realized I didn’t have mine. The internet was the biggest problem. It hardly worked, and I spent more time reconnecting than it was worth. I called the office several times because it wouldn’t stay connected. They said they knew and were trying to fix it, but the next day the owner called my room and said nothing was wrong with the internet and it was all on my end. I reset my connection and still got a message saying it couldn’t connect. There used to be two guest networks with different speeds, but don’t stay here if you need reliable internet. I paid $130 in pet fees for my small dog over the 17 days, charged weekly. I also got tired of waiting for a battery to be put in the clock, so I installed one myself, and I supplied my own tub plug. With my residence still two days away from being ready, I’m moving to another motel where there’s no pet fee and I can get online to finish my tasks without raising my blood pressure.
