Elmwood Resort Hotel

Our suite is set up with the two beds and full bathroom upstairs, while the queen bed, half bathroom, living room, and kitchen are downstairs. It’s very nice, though the ceiling fan light keeps flickering. Parking has been easy, with plenty of spaces. They ask for the car’s make, color, and plate number, but there’s no parking pass to display. At check-in, the woman was kind and explained how towels work: there’s a green bag in the room for the towels you use, then you put them in the red bag by the counter and leave it outside for housekeeping to pick up. They don’t provide room service, but you can scan the paper’s QR code to order things like extra towels online. There’s an indoor pool and an outdoor one. They said the outdoor pool isn’t heated at this time of year, though it’s still treated with chemicals. I’m looking forward to trying the pools and sharing pictures afterward.

The room was clean when we arrived, and I liked that each one has either a patio or balcony. It felt like a one-bedroom condo, with a handy recliner and cabinets stocked with the plates, pots, and pans we needed. There were four coffees for the Keurig too. I’d stay again next time I’m in Wells Maine.

The indoor pool was a comfortable temperature, and the kitchen was nice. The place was clean and well located, but it felt somewhat dated. I was counting on direct USB charging ports since every hotel I’d stayed at in the previous five years had them, and this one didn’t. Checkout at 10 a.m. meant we couldn’t return to shower after a morning at the beach. The advertised gym access was actually a pass to a local gym, and that gym is closed Sundays.

We stayed here last fall and are coming back this summer. It’s a perfect spot for families, and the staff are so nice and accommodating.
