Lighthouse Cabins

We couldn't take it anymore and left before checkout. These cabins are outdated and awful. I could go on about the bad parts. Do not stay here. We'll never come back! It was 100 degrees outside when we arrived, and there was no AC on. The cabin was about 110 inside and took over 24 hours to cool down. There was a huge gap under the door, so bugs could get in, and we had to keep a towel there the whole time. The cabin was dirty, and the grill hadn't been cleaned after the last guests. Gross! The power kept tripping if we tried to use two things at once, so we had to run cords for power, which felt unsafe. The bathroom had no sink, the shower was dirty, there was no curtain on the window, and the toilet was gross. The flush handle kept breaking. Every time we used the bathroom, the cabin smelled like septic. Gross! The second night, management woke us at 11:30pm asking if we were being loud. We were sleeping. Management smelled strongly of booze, and we found out he had been drinking with people next door. He woke us to make sure we weren't going to complain to the owner. No one offered clean towels or toilet paper. The picnic tables and pool were gross and dirty. Staff were never in the office, and calls went to voicemail.

I couldn't stay in the cabin for more than a minute before heading to the office to ask for a refund. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable. The front door was already busted in when we arrived, so I couldn't even lock it. The bathroom looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years, and the sheets had stains. I wasted three hours of my vacation trying to get my money back and leave. The next day, I saw an unauthorized $200 charge on my credit card. I cancelled the card immediately. It's absurd that they charged me for breaking their door when it was already broken. Shady people and a gross place. Don't waste your time or money. This cheap place will make you regret saving those extra bucks.

Our stay was easy and worry-free. Parking was a little confusing sometimes, but there was always a nearby spot that felt safe. The staff were super friendly and happy to bring fresh towels. The cabin had recently been updated: fresh paint, a new bed, pullout couch, toilet, and flooring. It was within walking distance of the beach.

My first review ever, but I'll be glad if it saves someone money. I rented three cabins for over $1,400 and would've much rather pitched a tent at a campground. The cabins are run-down trash, and the little parking there is ridiculous. There was trash all over the property and pool area, and the on-site staff are a joke. I honestly don't know what they do. My supposedly non-smoking room smelled so strongly of cigarettes it gave me a headache, and my son's cabin smelled like pot. The gentleman in the cabin next door said he felt the same way. His refrigerator had been broken the whole time, and no one had replaced it.
