The Garrison

We stayed for two nights in October 2025, and the grounds were practically pristine. The room was bright, clean, and had more lighting than we expected, along with a little kitchen area we hadn’t realized was there. There were also dishes, plates, and glasses, which you don’t usually see at a regular motel rate. When I noticed the porch light was out on the first night, it had been replaced by the next evening without us asking. Our porch felt private from the rooms on either side. Water pressure was solid, and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. My Queen and I really enjoyed the stay and have found our regular place for our trips to Maine.

I had to cancel an upcoming trip after an unexpected medical emergency. I’d tried several times to reach someone at The Garrison before the trip, and when I explained what happened, Justin didn’t seem to care. I offered to provide medical documentation, but he still wouldn’t return my deposit. I then saw that he had rebooked my reservation. I called several more times and left messages without getting a response. Very disappointing. That’s not how you should run a business.

We booked for four adults weeks ahead, but when we arrived the front desk clerk said they had nothing that could accommodate us. We were left without a place to stay. We won’t trust them again.

The suite across the lawn was very, very nice compared with the basic room we first got, and the staff were accommodating when I asked to switch. The suite cost only $16 more a night, and they had rooms available. I’d booked by phone for our first stay, and was really disappointed when we walked into the original room. The carpet looked old and was wrinkled in one spot, the room smelled, and the beds leaned to one side at the head. I knew I couldn’t sleep there, and my husband said he’d have to sleep in his clothes. The suite’s bed was hard, though, so I still couldn’t sleep. I think the other rooms need some updating. garrison
