The Majestic Regency Resort

Our room smelled like mold, so we had to keep the AC running and the windows open to make it somewhat better. The floor was very soft and coming apart. Shower pressure was poor, and the public restroom style soap dispenser in the shower was empty. Not impressed, and we won’t stay here again.

Parking was ample, the place was quiet, and check-in and checkout were easy, though finding someone at the desk was difficult. We were given plenty of shampoo, lotion, and soap, but one shampoo bottle had been opened and slightly used. The shower pressure was decent, and it’s close to restaurants. The room and property felt very dated. There was a step up at the entrance that was difficult for my disabled adult son, and the small lock didn’t make the door feel secure. A bar to keep the glass slider from opening would have helped. The AC filter was filthy and clogged, so I had to clean it in the shower myself. The living room lamp and phone were left on the coffee table, blocking the TV. The TV was tiny, and the cabinet doors wouldn’t stay open. Curtain rods were patched with actual bandaids, and the do-not-disturb signs had no way to attach to the door. A loop of Velcro might fix that. The kitchenette was old and poorly equipped. The microwave sat on an old kitchen table with stained chairs. Both stovetop burners were rusting, and the small refrigerator needed defrosting. There weren’t enough mismatched dishes for a family. We found a spatula, tongs, a few small pots, one fork, one butter knife, two tablespoons, and a few teaspoons. The silverware was in a worn, broken wicker organizer. The bathroom was tiny, with a shallow tub, a dusty light and exhaust fan, and a warped door that was hard to close. Lean too far while sitting on the toilet and you’ll hit your head on the sink. Both bedrooms were small, the mattresses old and uncomfortable, and the blinds broken and dusty. There’s no bedroom TV. Outdoor amenities were just okay, nothing special, and there’s no ocean view, though the beach is a short drive away. At more than $150 a night, I expected more from a two-bedroom suite. The poor quality put a damper on what was meant to be a special mother and son birthday trip.

Aaryan made our visit especially memorable with his attentive, professional, genuinely kind service. He made sure we had what we needed and added a personal touch that really stood out. The Majestic Regency Resort was comfortable, well kept, and in a great location for enjoying the coast. Our room was clean and spacious, the amenities were convenient, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. I had a wonderful stay, will definitely return, and highly recommend the resort to anyone visiting the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. After a terrible experience at the Ramada, the Regency was a welcome change: friendly staff, lots of room for activities, an outdoor grill and horseshoes, plus fire pits with complimentary camp wood. The room was clean and updated. Whenever we ran out of bathroom supplies, staff brought more quickly, even after the office had closed. Chris and Glen are Maine gems. I appreciate all they do, and how they treat guests like human beings.
