Americas Best Value Inn Wendover

I was skeptical because of the reviews, but the staff really impressed me. The woman at the front desk was polite and helpful, and the two housekeepers were respectful and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Thank you, ladies, and keep it up. The hotel is older and a little run down, but the rooms were exceptionally clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We'll see you next time.

My daughter and I spent two nights here on a girls' trip. The staff were friendly and professional, and our room was very clean and well kept. We'd stay here again for another trip together.

We tried to leave within an hour of checking in and asked for a refund. My friend and I had found crumbs all over the unvacuumed floor, fruit flies, food and other bugs in the sink, and clumps of hair and dirt in sheets that hadn't been washed. When we checked the mattress, we found a bed bug. The woman at the desk was nice and tried to reach the 'manager.' She gave us a number and said to call if we didn't hear about the refund because she couldn't approve one. We were told the contact was Gary. When we called, he slurred his words, wouldn't discuss what happened, and said the number was 'private' and nothing had been found. We then called the motel and Gary answered there too. He refused to give us the manager's number and was already rude because we'd called the number staff gave us. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The parking lot was well lit. That was the one good thing. Both rooms they tried to put us in had broken locks, the bathroom lights were half hanging off the wall, and the shower wall looked water damaged. There were filthy floors, hair blocking the drains and stuck to the shower walls, and old guests' leftovers molding in the mini fridge. Our non-smoking room reeked of smoke, and the disrepair felt like a safety hazard. The place looked like it hadn't had a maid or maintenance crew since it was built, and there's no refund policy. You're better off camping.
