Post Hotel

We were on the rail side, and the noise made sleeping miserable. Long trains went by loudly and regularly through the night and early morning. If you book here, make sure your room is on the riverside.

It was clean and close to everything, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a charming old elevator, and discounted shuttle service to the airport. I had a room with a bathroom, though some rooms don’t have one. Unfortunately, the shower had no hot water, and the bed was oddly shaped, with the middle higher than the rest. It was genuinely uncomfortable, beyond just being too firm for my taste. The old radiator pipes made a noise like someone hitting them with a wrench, waking me several times. The shuttle van has no smoking signs everywhere, but the driver clearly smokes with the windows up. I only needed somewhere to sleep before my flight, and for the price, the value seemed about right.

The room was fine and the shared bathrooms were decent. For the price, and after reading other reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. I’d suggest turning down the strong air freshener and adding another bedside outlet for a phone or laptop.

We were left without a room when our last-minute reservation at another hotel was canceled after we arrived in San Francisco. The guys here helped us out, and I think we also met the owner, who was nice to us. Thanks for everything, guys. We had a great time in SF, and Post Hotel was part of what made the city trip so good. For about $350 for 4 days and 3 nights, we got a top-floor city view and our own bathroom. The location was convenient for walking to cafes, bars, and restaurants. A note on parking: it can cost $30 for 18 hour parking or $50 for 24 hours with unlimited entry and exiting. Research parking and budget for it before arriving at hotels in SF. Most of all, have fun!
