The hostel is remote, so getting to the nearest gas, groceries, or restaurants means a 20-30 minute drive through rural mountain roads. Parking was plentiful, though, and the setting made the trip worthwhile. There are miles of hiking trails, woods, mountains, ocean views, and beaches nearby, with deer, coyotes, rabbits, owls, birds, and other wildlife around. I spent the days exploring nature trails, beaches, and nearby military sites, then drove to Sausalito and Tiburon for brunch and dinner and drinks. I was skeptical before arriving, but found the place clean and peaceful. The staff were wonderful, and the kitchen, laundry, basement game room, and lounge were all very good. Sitting outside with coffee or drinks in the evening, listening to wildlife and the distant ocean, was so calming. The price and professionalism are hard to beat. I'll definitely return for a longer stay and more exploring. Highly recommended.
