Hotel 32One

A really cute hotel, and the staff were accommodating when I arrived at 3am. The reception area with free tea and coffee was especially cute at Christmas. My room stayed freezing even with extra blankets, so I had to wear hoodies and sweat pants to bed. The in-room coffee and bath products were great. I extended my stay and would definitely come back.

The location was great, and the hardwood floors in the room were nice. You could pop over to chinatown for to-go dimsum in the morning or walk to the subway to explore other parts of the city. The front desk gave great customer service and were very accommodating. I also liked the wide tea selection in the room and lobby, plus the nespresso machine in the room. The elevator felt old, slow, and noisy. Our room was right beside it, so we heard it every time someone used it. It sounded like someone was moving furniture constantly.

The convenient, walkable location has public transportation nearby, and check-in was quick and easy. The room seemed bigger in the photos than it was in person. It was mostly fine, but dusty in some places and not completely clean. The old elevator felt like it could get stuck at any moment. It was an okay stay, though there's room for improvement.

The elevator is very old and runs poorly. One morning I waited 12 minutes. We checked in on November 22, and it was quite cold. The rooms have no heating, so they gave us a heater when we asked, but its noise made it impossible to sleep at night. Street noise kept us awake too. At first we thought it was jet lag, but the street really is that loud. They also wouldn't help us find parking. We requested room cleaning, but they left it undone for two days. One of those days was Thanksgiving, which I understand, but they skipped a regular day as well. I booked a Superior King Room at Hotel 32One for 6 nights, four months ahead, at $706 because I'm a Level 3 member on Booking.com. Twenty days before the trip, I saw the price had dropped to $678 and contacted the hotel. They told me to take it up with Booking.com. I did, following its price matching policy, but Booking.com said three days before my trip that the request wasn't eligible. Don't book early at Hotel 32One. No one will help afterward.
