Fairfield Inn & Suites Wentzville

The woman who serves breakfast was especially lovely. Her smile and friendliness turned my morning around, and she told me it was her job to make sure we started the day well. That kind of service deserves a thank you. Every staff member was exceptionally friendly. A note about Fairfields generally: after more than 15 years as a loyal HH Honors member, we tried Marriott because of repeated inconsistencies and poor service. I'm glad we did. Every Fairfield we've stopped at has been super clean, quiet, and well-maintained, with good coffee and wonderful staff.

The manager was so kind and considerate. Since my foot was broken, he helped us get a room near an exit door. We were exhausted after driving from Emporia KS, and this place was 10 stars. It was so clean and smelled wonderful. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept better than I have in 50 years. The employees and manager took such care to make sure we had the best stay, even for just one night. We felt right at home and loved this hotel. I'll stay here again one day, and nowhere else. The location was great, with a bunch of restaurants within a two-minute walk, including Bob Evans right next door. The rooms were really clean and the staff very friendly. The downsides were the tiny TV and disappointing breakfast. Still, it's a good place and worth the time and money.

The pool was nice, but nearly everything else went wrong. At check-in the attendant was unfriendly and didn't smile. In my room, the trash cans were in the middle of the floor without bags, which I let go. At the pool I heard the manager say they'd been paid for two rooms despite being overbooked and leaving two parties without rooms, adding, "more money for us lol". When I turned down the bed, I found a pair of socks in it. I'm assuming they were clean because the sheets looked clean, but that was bad enough. I reported it, and she said she'd look into it. Later, while washing my hair in the shower, I found dried pubic hair stuck to the wall. I reported that again, and all she said was that I'd have to talk to the manager in the morning to see if he would give me a discount. The manager said he'd open an investigation, but didn't apologize or offer a discount. He wasn't sympathetic or sorry that his hotel had given me a dirty room, and they didn't offer to move me because they were full. Breakfast was eggs and hard turkey sausage. The room clearly hadn't been fully cleaned, and nobody was friendly. If you're spending this kind of money, don't go here.
