Texas Inn Weslaco

They charged my card, but I still haven’t received my full refund. They won’t acknowledge the mistake and said I stayed at this hotel, though I’ve never been there. The management was horrible and seemed completely unhinged. I feel they’re con artists. A severe rip-off.

My family stayed in room#207 on Dec 14-15,2024 and accidentally left a white gold ring and a family rosary behind. When I called today to ask about them, the manager said none of her staff had turned anything in. I asked to file a report because of the items’ value, and she hung up on me. I tried calling back several times, but she wouldn’t answer or transfer me to voicemail. The room was also not cleaned: the bed sheets hadn’t been changed from the previous guests, and there was a pair of underware in the bathroom. I can’t recommend Texas Inn Weslaco. The manager was very unprofessional and needs much more training to handle a role that requires good customer service, welcoming hospitality, and respect for guests.

The woman who checked us in was wonderful and made the stay. Our rooms were clean, though they smelled like bleach. Please don’t advertise breakfast, because this wasn’t even a continental breakfast. The OJ was Tang or some other sweet drink, and they had a banana, old bread, grape spread, toaster waffle, and one mini powder donut. Very disappointing.

The location is good, with lots of stores nearby. Management was strict about how many people could stay in a room, and there was surveillance, which is a plus. I had problems with the card keys and had to get them reprogrammed; they still didn’t always work. My room was clean, though I later saw a small roach. The pool looked clean but wasn’t really, there were condom wrappers nearby, and the lounge chairs were torn up. The neighbors upstairs made loud noise from midnight to 4am, like they were throwing bowling balls around. I’m pretty sure management would have done something if I complained, but I didn’t want my vehicle vandalized. It’s a decent place for budget rooms.
