Hampton Inn & Suites West Bend

The staff were friendly, and breakfast gave us good choices. This was my first time in the area and at this hotel. As I expected from an HHONOR Group property, it was a good hotel in a good location. Kudos to the team and management. I’d stay here again when I’m back and recommend it to anyone visiting for work or pleasure.

The location was convenient, close to Walmart, a gas station, and several food chains, though it’s about 45 minutes from Milwaukee International Airport. I’d recommend renting a car if you’re coming from out of town. I was there for a family wedding, and weather delayed me badly. I forgot to call ahead about my arrival time. Manager Sherra was abrupt at first and alarmed me by saying there might be no rooms, but after I mentioned my Hilton honor status and she checked availability more carefully, she found one. The room was clean, with vacuumed floors, clean sheets, and plenty of bathroom linens. There was no bathroom fan for shower steam, and I had to ask the receptionist twice for more toilet paper. Breakfast was hot, clean, and tasty during the hours it was available. They also thoughtfully offered bagels with peanut butter and jelly, an apple, and bottled water to take along. The pool and gym were nice extras, and each floor had an ice machine. I wasn’t reassured by the lack of cameras on each floor, though, or by finding the receptionist in the kitchen when I checked out very early, which left me unsure anyone knew who was entering and leaving.

We had a clean, comfortable room and a really delicious breakfast. Cajla Gbedey was helpful and informative when I had questions before we arrived. I wish I’d caught the name of the woman who checked us in and out, because she was friendly and helpful too. The Hampton Inn West Bend has a great location and a great staff. We’ll stay there again on our next trip.

I’ve generally liked how consistent Hampton Inns feel, so I chose this one after extending my time in West Bend. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was nice, and I appreciated the late checkout. The location is handy, with Walmart and other shopping next door, and I got a lovely sunrise view from my window. I booked a suite, but it seemed like a standard king room with extra space, using the same furniture and amenities spread out. Unless you need that room, I’d save a bit and book a regular one. The bathroom was the main disappointment: weak shower pressure, water that stayed lukewarm even after running for a while, and an adjustment lever on the showerhead that didn’t seem to work. The door also caught on the floor and wouldn’t shut all the way. I’m not sure whether the floor was too high or the door was hung too low.
