Courtyard Cincinnati North at Union Centre

I travel for work, have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for years, and spent more than five years in sales and marketing at Marriott International in Columbus. That's why I know the accusing, condescending treatment I got at Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. check-in wasn't Marriott's standard. The young blonde woman at the desk acted as if I was trying to get away with something because my work credit card had my maiden name while my ID had my new married name. I'd married three months earlier and hadn't updated every card. She said she was willing to bet my Marriott Bonvoy account still used my maiden name. I told her it had already been changed, and even offered another card matching my ID. She refused it, then snarked that she 'just won't tell anyone' what she's 'allowing.' This staff member may need retraining in guest service.

We had a great two-night stay for our wedding. The one-bedroom king suite was much larger than the online pictures suggested. I worried four adults would barely fit, but on the morning of the wedding, more than seven people were getting ready in the suite with hair, makeup, and ironing dresses, and we still had plenty of room. The service stood out from arrival. When Sophia had briefly stepped away from the desk, a woman from the bar told us she'd be right back. Sophia returned in under a minute, fixed our issue without hesitation, and was willing to make adjustments because it was our wedding. Everyone we met was polite, welcoming, and smiling. We'd absolutely come back for a quick getaway.

We were here during a huge snowstorm, and every staff member I met was pleasant. I especially want to thank Greg and Joe. They noticed me trying to dig out my rental car with its snow brush and came over to shovel it out without me having to ask. I'd stay here again if I'm back in the area.

I brought my family along while I coached a soccer tournament. We had early games and needed to leave before breakfast, so the staff arranged a side breakfast for us on both days. Sofia especially impressed me, even coming in on one of her days off. The front desk was accommodating and stayed composed despite the noise and commotion from several teams staying for different sports tournaments. It was a great stay, and the service is a big reason I keep choosing Marriott.
