Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Los Angeles West Covina

My husband travels as a physician and has stayed here for 7-11 days at a time. I called because he arrives late and needed his room cleaned for once. Management said they only clean every five days. Who has heard of that? We change our home linens more often than the hotel does. We've traveled all over the world with Marriott, and he's a lifetime Ambassador, but this is the best they can do? The rooms and decor are old, and the premises are filthy. He won't return. Marriott doesn't care about its Ambassadors' commitment to the brand!

Restaurants were close by, parking felt safe, and the area was quiet at night, which made the getaway easier. The hotel is right by I-10, so getting around was easy. My room had what I needed for a short stay and was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were attentive and checked me in quickly. I stayed one night, had a better experience than expected, and would consider coming back.

The rooms are standard and clean, but the hotel is oddly situated, so make sure you use the right entrance. There are too few outlets, and the TV is placed in front of the mirror, which makes little sense. Coffee isn't available around the clock. I travel from the East Coast and was up at 4 a.m.; I'd have liked a cup without making it from powdered ingredients in the room. One night I went down for ice cream, but they wouldn't add it to my room tab. You have to pay by card at the sundry shop, and I didn't have my wallet or want to go back upstairs and come down again.

The front desk staff were friendly and got me checked in quickly. There was plenty of parking, and the area felt safe. My room was clean, comfortable, and had what I needed for a short weekend getaway. Breakfast could have had a better selection, but it wasn't a big deal. I had a pretty good stay and would come back next time I'm in the area.
