We came back for our 25th anniversary, having stayed here for our first one. I love the history, and the location is perfect. Our room was big and had a balcony, but being on the street side meant a lot of traffic noise that made it hard to relax. The hotel is said to be haunted, mostly on the 3rd floor. I hung out there for a while and didn't feel anything strange. We barely interacted with staff, so I can't really rate the service. We did have dinner at the Riverside bar ang grill: the fish and chips were great, while the other food was okay. I'd recommend staying here if you want to feel the town's history.

The riverfront view from the hotel was excellent, and the food was great. Getting it to the table, though, took far too long. We waited about 40 minutes, and one man never got his meal before we later saw him catching the tour bus behind the hotel. Also, not everyone should be called “hon.”

Room 215 was the best! Heather at the front desk was super nice, and the Gun Room server and food were perfect. Dinner was delicious too. Thanks to all the staff for making the trip memorable.

The river views and local things to do are great, and the rooms have authentic furniture. This place has a lot of history, as the first hotel in the new frontier of the northwest territory. A must see.

The senior price was $35, which seemed fair. I had Thanksgiving dinner there today, going during the buffet's last hour, and there was still plenty of food. Everything was prepared well. I only wish they'd served deviled eggs.
