The room was nice and clean, and the staff seemed friendly. But the next day my prescription medication, including pain medicine, was missing from the room. At the desk, an employee said there was nothing he could do, took my information, and said a manager would check who had entered our room and get back to me. He was on the phone as soon as I turned around, though I don’t know who he was texting. I still haven’t received a call as of today. This is really concerning, especially with kids staying in the room with us.

The rooms are clean, and the hotel feels nice and safe, but the service staff didn’t follow through. I was at a conference and arrived a day early, then added another night without booking through the third party. The next morning I asked for the room to be cleaned and mentioned we had no soap or lotion, which usually come with the room. The front desk person wrote it down, but when I got back around 6:30 PM, nothing had been done. I had to go downstairs for towels and soap.

Smash Park right next door was a huge bonus, with a fun bar and grill and activities for adults and kids. The hotel itself was reasonably priced for the quality, with a great room, spectacular staff, and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The setup feels like home, and the cooking staff clearly take pride in the phenomenal spread. Everyone was pleasant and helpful, and my daughter and I were treated so well. You’re also within 5 to 10 minutes of just about anything you might want. I’ll stay here next time I’m in Des Moines.

We spent two weekend nights here. The hotel was very clean, the front desk staff were friendly, and breakfast was included. There’s pretty much anything you need nearby. The one downside was how uncomfortable the bed in our room was.
