Montrose at Beverly Hills

The rooftop pool is gorgeous, and we had a great four-night stay at the Montrose for WeHo Pride. Our room felt more like an apartment, with plenty of space and everything we needed. We could walk to the popular bars and restaurants, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to come back.

We were impressed with the room at The Montrose at Beverly Hills: it was spacious, with a comfy bed, separate bathroom, lounge area, kitchenette, and a view of the L.A skyline. The quiet street was close to everything in Beverly Hills by car, and the staff were lovely. Valet parking was included in our package, which was handy. Breakfast had a limited selection, but we’d definitely stay again if we get the chance. We were there at the start of November.

The only person who came across as genuinely friendly was the valet. The front desk made an already unpleasant check-in feel like a hassle, despite our rooms being fully prepaid. Before our arrival, I emailed to explain that my colleague would arrive a day early without a credit card and that I’d come the next day with the security deposit for both rooms. I never got a response. When my colleague arrived, they wouldn’t take cash, send an online payment link, or accept a card payment over the phone. The staff’s tone felt hostile, as if we personally owed them money or were trying to sneak in through the kitchen. They eventually let him stay one night, but warned that his key would stop working at 11 AM the next day unless I showed up in person. After I arrived and paid the deposit for both rooms, I calmly said the check-in had been unpleasant. Rather than apologize, the front desk agent said she was surprised her colleagues had let him check in at all. No smiles, warmth, or real effort to help. It’s a beautiful property in a great Los Angeles location, but the reception team needs to learn what hospitality is supposed to feel like.

We were exhausted by the time we arrived after midnight, thanks to a major flight delay, and Victor at reception greeted us in a great mood. He was kind and courteous, recommended places around the area, and upgraded our room. My fiancé and I were in town for a friend’s wedding, had a great time, and will be back!
