Super 8 By Wyndham West Memphis

The place is clearly older, with worn and dated features, but at this price I wasn't disappointed. The two front desk clerks I met were very nice, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the AC was cold. The shower had good pressure and warm water.

We felt safe, and the rooms were clean and quiet. Everyone we met at the motel was friendly and helpful, and we slept comfortably both nights. The rooms are a bit outdated, but that didn't bother us. It's close to gas and food, and just a short drive from the places we wanted to see, including Graceland, Beale st, the civil rights museum and Tunica Mississippi. Good price, too. If you don't need a fancy modern motel, this works well. We'll stay here again on our next visit.

The room was about what I expected for the price, and the staff were relatively nice. But I found a bedbug. I took pictures and brought the dead bug to the front desk, and told the staff. The manager seemed unbothered. I wasn't offered an apology or a refund.

Sleep was almost impossible because trucks idled all night in the parking lot next door, making noise and vibrating the bed. The receptionist said rooms are meant to be non-smoking, but asked what she could do if guests smoke. She also said the hotel is "real old" and the owner doesn't spend money on upkeep or repairs. I can't believe this is part of the Wyndham chain. The room smelled strongly of stale smoke, and several walls were stained. The mirror was broken, the tub was filthy and looked patched repeatedly, and the shower curtain rod was about to come off the wall. I didn't use the shower. Worst hotel stay I've had in years.
