Americas Best Value Inn West Monroe

The room was the worst part. There were roaches, the shower barely trickled, the AC took hours to make the room feel less swampy, and the fridge was useless. Only two lights worked, and the door wouldn’t close properly, which felt especially unsafe when it seemed so easy to push open. Even the lobby smelled of cigarettes and misery, and the place looked completely neglected. The location felt like a crime documentary set. At the front desk, the woman spoke to me through glass as if I were ordering fast food at 2 a.m. She only opened the door after I’d told her over and over that I couldn’t hear her. Some service. I’ve never spent money on anything worse. If you hate yourself, stay here. Otherwise, run.

The fridge was dirty, and the room smelled of smoke despite being marked non-smoking. There were cigarette burns in both the comforter and the sheet.

Lots of spots to plug in devices, plus a fridge and microwave. The room was clean, and the clerk was wonderful.

This motel is so run-down that I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I hope I never have to come back 😢
