Hilton Garden Inn Knoxville Papermill Drive

We brought our dog along, and the floor-to-ceiling window was a nice feature. He liked watching people walk through the parking lot. The hotel is close to the UT famous, with dining and shopping nearby, and the interstate is only a couple of minutes away. We had a pleasant overnight stop on a road trip. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was very good: we ordered a couple of burgers with sides, and the food was tasty. Service was quick for a hotel restaurant.

The only real issue was the lunch and dinner meeting food. It was tasteless, and the pink chicken made me question whether it had been cooked safely. ⭐️ The staff were so welcoming, helpful, and attentive. Everything was immaculately clean and in order, and it smelled heavenly.

The shower was a bit of a peeve: it’s a walk-in with no door or curtain, so cold air kept hitting me even with the heat turned up. Water also dripped constantly onto a loud metal floor drain. I loved the bathroom shelves, though, and the bathroom was nice. My room was spotless, and I liked it so much that I even took a photo of the blanket tag because the blanket was incredibly soft and comfortable. The restaurant food was genuinely good. I had chicken tenders, a steak, and a rib. The tenders were a solid classic, and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. I’d skip the rib, which tasted like bland roast beef. My takeout bag didn’t have barbecue sauce, though after enjoying the steak so much two days earlier, I didn’t think to ask for any. Everyone was really nice throughout my stay, and the hotel was super clean. I also appreciated the bartender making me comfortable ordering from the restaurant menu. I’d never ordered hotel food before and felt awkward, but he was relaxed and could keep a conversation going easily.

A convenient stop during our road trip, with easy access to and from the highway. The service was great, and the updated rooms were clean.
