Comfort Suites West Monroe near Ike Hamilton Expo Center

Breakfast was good, and the woman looking after it was very nice. She also apologized for the front desk clerk. I’d booked a room with two queen beds, but was asked to take a single king instead because of a “computer glitch.” I agreed to that until the clerk opened our room door without knocking, then did the same to another room right down the hall. When I brought it up at checkout, she wouldn’t acknowledge that I’d been in the room she entered, wouldn’t look at me, and didn’t apologize. She said her name was Brandy, but wasn’t wearing a badge and her name wasn’t on the receipt.

The room was clean, but could use some care: fresh paint and caulking, for starters. The exterior looks like it’s being renovated, so hopefully the rooms will get some work too. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The beds were really comfortable, but the hotel had a moldy, musty smell. I’m glad I brought my diffuser from home to try to cover it up.

The floor in the room sloped so much it felt like walking on a boat, or walking drunk while sober. There was trash in the room when we arrived, and we paid for queen beds but got doubles. Wi-Fi dropped out about half the time, and when it did work the connection was poor.
