Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott West Monroe

The staff made this a nice stay. Ebony and L quickly brought new pillows to our room and checked that everything was okay. Murdock was helpful and friendly at breakfast, and I enjoyed chatting with him. Alasha (spelling?) even offered to help carry our things out to the car and load them. The room was clean enough, though I’m not sure the hotel has been fully renovated as the website says. The lobby and breakfast area do look great.

The eucalyptus and lavender 🪻 body wash was a nice touch, and our room was clean. We also liked the gym and had a great hotel breakfast. Everything from check-in through check-out made for an awesome, five-star stay.

Linda, who worked in the breakfast room, was lovely. She kept cleaning and restocking, but still made time to be welcoming, cordial, and helpful, always with a sweet smile. My room was clean and comfortable, but what happened at checkout has me still angry, and I won't return. Checkout was at noon. At 10 a.m. I was having breakfast and planned to go upstairs afterward to shower, get dressed, and leave. I stopped at the front desk to chat, and an employee handed me my bag. Someone had put my jewelry in with my morning medication and other belongings, and stuffed my underwear into the open top. The manager said I had been checked out. I had not checked out, and I was traveling alone, so nobody had the right to do that. The manager discounted my night's stay, but I never even got to shower. They had my phone number. If they thought I had left a bag, why didn't anyone call? That was just wrong.

The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the food is what you'd expect. I always have a great experience here.
