Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites West Valley by IHG

The shower was my favorite part: clean, with good pressure, a sliding glass door instead of a curtain, room for toiletries, and bars to hang washcloths and towels. The staff are great, breakfast is great for a hotel, the pool is nice, and I’m heading to the hot tub now. The bed’s pretty comfy too. The housekeeping team does a good job, though the rooms could always be cleaner. Sunrise looks pretty cool as well. 😁

The desk staff were wonderful and answered all my questions, and the breakfast team was great. The breakfast was really good, and I like the location, so I’ll stay again. My room had a strong smell, maybe the carpet needs cleaning. The AC was loud and the bathroom fan didn’t work. The mini fridge was handy, and the bathroom was clean with comfortable beds.

We spent two nights at Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Valley City on a staycation with our son, and the pool area felt like a family amenity crossed with a low-budget waterpark designed by someone who’d just discovered caffeine. That slide launched my kid into the water like he was heading into battle. I nearly wanted a waiver before trying it myself. The pool had just the right chaos-and-chlorine mix, where every splash felt a little illegal and completely worth it. My son called it “the best hotel ever,” which is impressive given that he once put a gas station nacho machine among his top five life experiences. Seriously no joke. We slept great and laughed harder. I’d absolutely return to risk my life on that unhinged aquatic missile again.

The pool was amazing, and the room was clean, comfortable, and a decent size, just what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express. We booked a king room for a Saturday night staycation and will definitely come back. The employee who checked us in was such a sweetheart!
